Not all types of cables perform the same function but it depends on different types of cables like Electrical cables, computer cables & Power cables. In these types of cables, every conductor can be insulated with paper impregnated through an appropriate dielectric. Normally we use two types of insulation for cables. The number and type of protective layers surrounding the core depends upon the use for which the cable is intended. Single core conductor is only used in the high tension voltage system. Single core cables are having only one core conductor itself and big sized and that would be Phase, Neutral or Earth. The cable core contains a single solid or stranded central strength element that is surrounded by optical fibres; these are either arranged loosely in a rigid core tube or packed tightly into a cushioned, flexible outer jacket. The layers in the cable allow the metal core to conduct electrical current securely in the location it is installed in. Power cables operate on direct current or low-frequency alternating current, while communication cables operate at higher frequencies. These cables include three copper wires where one wire is used for the current, what is electric cable the second one is a grounding wire & the third one is the neutral wire.

A grounded shield on cables operating at 2.5 kV or more gathers leakage current and capacitive current, protecting people from electric shock and equalizing stress on the cable insulation. Conductor : This part of the cable allows the electrical current. The cable which is used for the transmission & distribution of electric power is known as electrical cable. All conductors must be installed between purpose-made termination points (switches, junction boxes, distribution boards) and be terminated with purpose-made cable lugs, crimps, screw or other connectors. In electrical and electronic circuits, electrical cables are connected by using connectors which are known as cable assembly. Armored conductors must be terminated using suitable cable glands which incorporate a suitably rated Earth tag or other purpose made connection to the armoring of the conductor and to the metallic sheath if present. The power cables are used for domestic purpose as they can be buries into the ground or can be used overhead. Strength and flexibility : The cables which are used for any purpose must have a large insulation and should be easily installed. Where conductors are installed underground, they must be installed so as to protect against mechanical damage and enable future removal.

Tri core conductors are used in the 415V - low voltage system. In general, the core is covered with a layer of copper to improve conduction over long distances, followed by a material (e.g., aluminum foil) to block the passage of water into the fibres. This causes the voltages induced by a magnetic field between the shield and the core conductor to consist of two nearly equal magnitudes which cancel each other. It isolates the electromagnetic field in the cable from any external electromagnetic field. The port of Ethernet can be observed on the motherboard to plug the cable directly. MAXIMUM WIRE RUN LENGTH for each WIRE SIZE - how long can the wire be without overheating? These cables are available in small size but we can extend by using some adapters based on the requirement. The whole construction of these cables will change based on some factors like the voltage, temperature, electrical performance, etc. These cables can be made with different shieldings like foil, spiral, or braid. Shielding or Armor : It is the external protection of the conductor against the temperature, sun, rain etc. These are generally made of polymeric material.

Simple shielding of this type is not greatly effective against low-frequency magnetic fields, however - such as magnetic "hum" from a nearby power transformer. Simple Usage : The cables should be easily installed without requirement of complex circuits . For locations with higher than normal fire risk, either cables must be installed in metal conduit or mineral insulated copper clad or enhanced fire-resistance conductors must be used. All cables that are not armored, or that do not have a metallic sheath or screen, must be installed in plastic or metal conduits or trunking throughout their entire length. The balance of the circuit (and sometimes the entire circuit) may, however, require specialized cables. Power cables like screened cables are applicable up to 33KV of the voltage range, however, in some cases, the voltage range can be increased up to 66KV. These cables are available in two types like H- type and SL type. These types of cables contain flexible plastic jackets including 2 to 4 wires and also a bare wire used for grounding. UTP cables including solid copper cores & copper wires are popular choices because they are flexible to use on walls. Shielded twisted pair (STP) cables have a large diameter and are more expensive as compared to coaxial or UTP cables.
